DESCRIPTION
Discover Celestial Marvels with the Vixen VC200L Catadioptric Telescope (Optical Tube Assembly only)
At the heart of the VC200L lies its unique catadioptric system, featuring a high-precision sixth-order aspherical (VISAC) primary mirror, a convex secondary mirror, and a triplet corrector lens. This sophisticated optical design delivers high-definition star images to the edge of a wide imaging field, ensuring exceptional performance in both visual observation and astrophotography.
Experience outstanding pinpoint star images without coma and field curvature, thanks to the precise correction of coma aberration, spherical aberration, and curvature of field. Every image captured with the VC200L is stunningly sharp, with star images measuring less than 15 microns across the entire 42mm image circle.
For astrophotography enthusiasts, the VC200L offers incredible versatility, especially when paired with the optional VC reducer (included in the Vixen SD Reducer HD Kit). This accessory reduces the focal length from 1800mm to 1386mm (0.77×) and improves the focal ratio from f/6.9 to f/6.4, making it perfect for imaging deep sky objects with exceptional clarity and detail. The reducer also expands the image circle to Φ36mm, which accommodates the imaging field of DSLR cameras with APS-C sensors. Additionally, the VC200L's built-in flattener lens ensures sharp images across the 36mm image circle, making it suitable for both APS-C and full-frame sensors up to 44mm, allowing for impressive, detailed captures of deep sky objects.
Why choose the Vixen VC200L Catadioptric Telescope OTA?
1. Precision Star Images, Edge to Edge
With its advanced VISAC optical system and built-in field flattener, the VC200L eliminates coma, field curvature, and spherical aberration—delivering razor-sharp stars across the entire 42mm image circle. Capture wide-field astrophotography without distortion.Â
2. Powerful Light-Gathering for Deep-Sky Discovery
The large 200mm aperture and long 1800mm focal length give you exceptional unparallel clarity and contrast, even with faint objects like galaxies and nebulae. Reveal the hidden details of the universe.
3. Designed for Astrophotography from Day One
From the built-in flattener lens to camera-ready adapter threads (60mm and 42mm), this OTA is engineered to work with DSLR and astronomy cameras alike. Start imaging immediately—no complex setups needed.
4. Flexible Setup with Optional Reducer
Want faster exposures and a wider field? Add the VC Reducer HD Kit to reduce the focal length to 1386mm (f/6.4) and expand your imaging possibilities. Adapt your telescope to every astrophotography challenge.
5. Lightweight and Travel-Friendly
Despite its optical power, the VC200L weighs only 6.9 kg and fits easily into your car or observatory case. Its open-tube design cools down quickly and travels well. Perfect for mobile stargazing and dark sky site adventures.
6. Enhanced Light Transmission for Clearer Views
Vixen’s multi-coated optics maximize brightness and reduce reflections, ensuring vivid, high-contrast views whether you're observing or photographing. Enjoy brilliant clarity—even under less-than-perfect skies. It is truly outstanding!
